LESSONS FROM KING REHOBOAM

REHOBOAM
Rehoboam was Solomons son who succeeded his father. His mother was an Amonitess. Rehoboam goofed right from the beginning by listening to young people. He lost the other 10 tribes to Jeroboam as a result of his insensitivity like himself instead of listening to God fearing elderly ones. His reign was described as wicked. He reigned for 17years.

LESSONS
Leaders  should not surround themselves with those who will simply fan their ego and prompt them to oppress their subjects. Having young godless people as advisers can lead to licentiousness and doom for the nation. Never take your subjects for granted. During his reign idolatry prevailed, sodomy and other abominations practiced by nations around them was reported, king shushak of Egypt also attacked Jerusalem and took away the treasures in the house of God and the king’s palace.
